Content Creation for Digital Signage
Digital Signage is still a relatively new phenomenon with networks springing up everywhere. There are a large number of new and established companies offering digital signage networks, but they are mainly focused on the technology rather than the content. So while an installation may be impressive, little thought is given to the content on the screens which is often left to the client to produce in house, so either static content is displayed from tradition print sources or video loops of pre-existing video footage.

At Mediastation we offer a different approach, we understand the whole picture, as content providers, we can give you an impartial view on the required technology either working with your technology provider or recommending suitable partners.

 

The mistake often made is assuming people will watch video content. People see video as an "at home" activity rather than "out of home", so where you do not have a captive audience, rolling video footage is probably not the answer as people will not focus on the content. In these environments people want to be informed but not engaged.

 

With this in mind we tend to recommend portrait screens, as landscape are associated with television, with an animated poster using digitised brand material animated with slight movement to bring out the advertising message.
